Upgrading - Post Upgrade Cleanup

Once you are absolutely sure that you have upgraded every Scriptable Asset or Component that you need, and confirmed that the new Assets/Components are working properly, you have the option of removing project files related to the old Terrain Slicing & Dynamic Loading Kit. This process is irreversible and as such, we implore you to confirm that you ABSOLUTELY will not need access to the old Asset/Components or project files in the future, before proceeding with the steps described below.

We take no responsibility for lost data as a result of these steps.

PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK

You should also ensure that you have followed the upgrade steps in the new Terra Slicer Editor Guide before proceeding, as the steps described below will delete project files related to the Terra Slicer.

If you have not upgraded to Terra Slicer, or are not sure if it's safe to perform this post upgrade cleanup, we would advise skipping this step for now!

Removing Components/Assets

Before removing the old product Project Files, it is recommended that you remove any old Scriptable Assets in the project, or old Components from the Scenes/Prefabs that they are in. If not done, you will see an error message in the inspector of these Assets/Components; you will be left with a bunhc of Assets and Components that are no longer functional.

You should also ensure that all newly created Scriptable Assets have been moved out of the root TerrainSlicing folder, and that nothing else you do not want deleted is inside of the TerrainSlicing folder.

Removing Main Project Files

In order to remove the majority of the project files, simply delete the TerrainSlicing folder which sits inside the root Assets folder.

Of course, you should ensure you have not placed any files inside of this folder before deleting it; if you have, please move them to a different folder now.

Removing Gizmos

There are three Icon files inside of the root Gizmos folder that can be removed at this time. These files should be directly within the Gizmos folder, not inside sub-folders. Do not remove any files found in sub-folders, including the DeepSpaceLabs sub-folder. The files to remove include:

SceneGenerationFile Icon

SliceConfigurationFile Icon

WorldGrid Icon

Removing AssetBundleManager

If you had the old Asset Bundle Manager installed, you can remove it at this time by deleting the AssetBundleManager folder found within the root Assets folder. Of course, only do so if not using Asset Bundle loading elsewhere in your project.
